Canmore is a world-class mountain destination that draws many of the whos-who of business. Canmore is the most expensive town in Alberta. It’s no wonder when you have a look at the luxury neighbourhoods in town. Some houses would sell for well over $10 million if they ever come to market. The finest mountain homes in Canmore can be found in these four wealthiest neighbourhoods. Luxury custom homes are the most typical. Also, considering Canmore’s a relatively newer destination for wealthy homeowners, most luxury homes have been built in the last ten years. Therefore these houses offer exceptional workmanship, amenities and design features that surpass many of the pickiest buyer’s expectations.

Cairns On The Bow

Cairns on the Bow is a quiet enclave located on the south side of the Bow River. The luxury homes are all custom-built. Some of these houses feature the finest wood, marble and rock from around the world. Many of the homeowners are weekend visitors or international seasonal residents. It’s exceptionally rare to have a home come up for sale in Cairns on the Bow. The primary reasons are that there 1) aren’t many homes in the neighbourhood and 2) there is rarely a reason to sell in the luxury market – families typically hold their homes for generations.

Prospect

Prospect is a neighbourhood that many people pass by daily but never explore. Prospect is located on the west side of the Bow River, just across the Bridge Road bridge. Higher-end buyers enjoy how few passersby they get, the seclusion that the area offers, the ease of popping into town on foot, and the ability to hit the trails and head up to the Nordic Centre for a cross-country ski or mountain bike ride. A real estate element that separates Prospect from nearly every other neighbourhood in Canmore is that there are duplexes that back onto the Bow River. This means that the lucky few who snap up these homes is that they have a valuable piece of real estate that is more affordable for weekenders. Don’t get us wrong, cheap is not an adjective to describe a house in Prospect, but it is undoubtedly great high-end value.
